Flipping

I took for granted the ability to flip over in my sleep. These days I find myself waking up, wanting to flip onto my other side, and having a hard time getting the momentum needed to make the flip.
I’ve had a lot of soreness around the spot where my legs connect to my torso, which makes my legs feel like dead weight in the middle of the night; this just makes flipping even more difficult.

It normally turns into some late-night grunt fest. Don’t get excited, folks. Grunting helps get the momentum you need to flip. This is what I’ve learned.

  1. One of the worst/hardest parts about pregnancy = sleeping. I found flipping under (still having to get on my hands and knees to do it) worked better for me than going over the top. Also, do you sleep with a pillow between your legs? I got a small just throw pillow thingy from walmart (in the craft section, you know that you can cover) and used that. Seemed to help with my hips a ton!

  2. I have a body pillow from Target which helps a little.

I pretty much had to stop putting shoes and socks on by myself, since my pelvis hurts so badly.

YAY, pregnancy 🙂 I’m sure I don’t have to tell you about it…
